A Day of Discovery

We got an early start to the day with a wake-up call at 5 a.m. and breakfast at 6 a.m.  Once our tanks were re-fueled it was off to another day of discovery.  We travelled the Golan Heights and were schooled on the past, present and possible future of this area.
From there it was northward to Caesarea Philippi.  Here Pastor Glen opened up the Word with one of the most important teachings.  Our setting from Scripture was Matthew 16:13-20.  This teaching is core to the Christian faith as Jesus address the bottom line question to our salvation…”Who do they say that I am?”  Here we were challenged to examine our hearts for this is one question you can’t afford to get wrong.  We need to know who Jesus is!  Then once we have confessed this truth personally, we have a mission to live it out publically that others may come to know Him.
After a walk around this area it was then off to Tel Dan.  What an amazing place!  It is hear that we walked back into time to the reign of King Jeroboam and King Rehoboam.  Out of 1 Kings 12:1-30, we learned how worshipping God is prescribed by God Himself.  We also discovered how religion enables man to build his kingdom but relationship enables God to build His kingdom us.  After the teaching we walked around this incredible wilderness and were lead to the Canaanite Gate that lead into the city.  It is over 3000 years old.
Once were done at Tel Dan, our next and final Biblical stop of the day would be the Mount of Beatitudes.  Looking over the Sea of Galilee, Pastor Glen lead us through a teaching focused on the Beatitudes from Matthew 5:1-12.  We discovered the desire the Lord has for righteousness.  Righteous conduct has to flow from a righteous character…you can’t do this on your own strength, it must come through the Holy Spirit.  This was a special time where after the teaching, the team had time to walk the area and seek the Lord as to what He wanted to say personally to the hearts that were open to this passage.
What an amazing day this has been…it has been another day of discovery!
Bless you and thank you for your prayers!
